A SOCIALITE JUICER'S JUBILEE

In the 1950s, socialite Lilly Pulitzer headed south--for, as my friend André would say "a juice run to Palm Beach." She opened a stand just off Worth and sold juices made from produce grown at her husband's citrus groves. But as the tale goes, it happened to be the ever-preppy pink and green frocks that her seamstress stitched that attracted the crowds. Soon, Lilly was selling more shifts than fresh-squeezed and the rest is history. This year the Lilly shift rings in its 50th Anniversary. The Jubilee celebration kick-off at Parsons The New School for Design in November included the launch of a Lilly-print piano from Steinway & Sons. The Lilly Pulitzer limited-edition Steinway & Sons Piano is available at Lilly Pulitzer stores nationwide by special order. While you're there, pick up some of the juicy dresses from the Lilly Jubilee Collection. Also available at Neiman Marcus.
