Sartorialist Splendor

The Sartorialist blog is an amazing place to go, to look + see. And there, I am always inspired by so much:

a color palette

a composition

a face

a haircut

Lapo-style • mix + match

a designer {Celine}

a smile

a scene

a necklace

a shoe

a pattern

a pose

or a vibe.

Just a small sampling of the images that stopped me in my sartorial tracks recently. I hope you see all there is to see at The Sartorialist.

Andy Warhol's Tiffany Greetings

Just a few of the many illustrations Andy Warhol created for John Loring's Tiffany. The Warhol-Tiffany adventure began in 1956 and lasted for seven years. These drawings are so delightful with their sense of whimsy and wonder. You can see more in the book Greetings from Andy Warhol: Christmas at Tiffany's.

Merry Christmas. oxo

PS... "Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures" is on view through March 21 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, moma.org {you can read an article about the exhibition in the New York Times here}.

Black Friday - Always Thinking

I am sorry to have disappeared for a while. But, I had decided to leave the Gift Guide front and center on the blog for the past month. Heading into Christmas week, we have a sad situation at our house. Our darling dachshund Billy, is having some back trouble. We are seeing a neurologist tomorrow. So, please send your best, healing thoughts our way. I had planned to post some of my favorite Andy Warhol illustrations {created for Tiffany} this weekend, but instead... here are some of my favorite Billy cartoons by my best friend, Mark. We love Mark and his love for Billy. Our fingers are crossed for a speedy recovery! Wishing you a very happy holiday. oxo

I had so much fun putting last year's Gift Guide together, I decided to do another one this year. I hope you find something here for everyone on your list! Wishing you a holiday filled with joy and sending a big thanks to you for reading My Dog-Eared Pages.

Books Books Books

Growing up with a father in the book business was a little tricky as a child. When you begged to give Twister or the latest groovy thing as a gift, Dad insisted on a book. "Books are the best presents"... and he was so right. This is an amazing year for books! There are just too many good books to possibly list here—but, for decorating fanatics on your list—don't forget Carolyne Roehm's A Passion For Interiors, or Emily Evans Eerdman's The World of Madelaine Castaing, or Mary McDonald's Interiors: The Allure of Style, and so many more!
