It's cold here in the Northeast and I don't go anywhere without my Burt's Bees! Yes, for that pout-y, Jean Shrimpton '60s look, pucker-up with a kiss of Burt's Lip Shimmer. Available in 13 pearlized colors, this lip shimmer is brimming with goodness—vitamin E, coconut and sunflower oils—and just the right amount of peppermint oil, for a perfect taste. At only $5 a shimmer, you can buy every color for every bag or pocket. My favorites are Champagne, Guava, Watermelon, and new Caramel. Just pure, shimmering goodness!
Note: Nicky Haslam was the Creative Director on the legendary Bazaar cover above [see Colette's note below!]
Love the Lip Shimmer - I have about four Nutmegs in different spots, but Caramel may be right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs. B!
ReplyDeleteI love the Caramel... it's a camel-y gold, very much like the cap above.
I've never tried these - but now think I must (maybe Griebs has them)! And Jean Shrimpton was my idol!! Do you remember when she was the icon for Yardley? One of my favorite presents of the era was a set of 26 mini Yardley lipsticks in a fabulous package including colors like pearlized blue and white - I just loved it - although I was not allowed out of the house with any of them on (of course I did though).
ReplyDeleteStacey "Q", you will love the BB shimmers! I do remember those Yardley minis. As teens, we had a make-up closet that was formerly a linen closet... with a full-length door mirror that was perfect for putting on make-up. A lot of Darien friends remember that closet well! Stocked with everything. The site does list Griebs! ; )
ReplyDeleteive tried a few lip shimmers and they dry my lips out! maybe burt's will be better...i use their regular chapstick like woah! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Jaime, they are not drying, promise!!
ReplyDeletemade right here in NC! and Durham/Morrisville-we are very proud of them- even carry them in the good ol' hometown everywhere. pgt
ReplyDeleteLA, that's so cool! Such a great brand!! ; )

couple {the woman} that started it all.
very interesting.
jean shrimpton was such a beauty.
btw, does anyone remember 'mary quant' cosmetics??
Hi Renee, Mary Quant cosmetics were so MOD and fabulous!! The brand created a simple daisy logo that was just right for the times.
ReplyDeleteHi there, it might interested you to know that Nicky Haslam creative directed that legendary Harpers cover, the original had a holographic winking eye pasted to over one eye. He writes about it in his autobio 'Redeeming Features'...always always love a splash of pink - even more so when its NOT on trend but never mind!! and Renee Finberg...MQ has relaunched her cosmetics at the Duke of York Square shop. x colette
ReplyDeleteColette, great to learn that NH creative directed this shot. I've always love it. And, good to know about MQ cosmetics relaunch. How great!! Thanks for your comment ; ).
