We move from Mimosa in 2009 to Turquoise 15-5519 as Pantone puts dibs on the color for interiors and fashion trends in 2010. The color is believed to be a "protective talisman" and "a color of deep compassion and healing." Executive director, Leatrice Eiseman also states that Turquoise "represents an escape to many." The color has wide appeal and according to the experts "adds a splash of excitement to neutrals and browns, complements reds and pinks, creates a classic maritime look with deep blues, livens up all other greens, and is especially trend-setting with yellow-greens." We'll see! All of the Turquoise-y items shown here are available on 1stdibs.
Love this color, and Pantone is right on about what it represents--we could all use an escape right now!

ReplyDeleteTurquoise is beautiful. Happy 2010! ox
My powder room was all white & beige, then one day 2 years ago I take a notion to paint it a semi-gloss turquoise. Viola ! Instantly better.
ReplyDeleteWonderful color, so soothing.
ReplyDeleteAn Oasis of turquoise!
J'adore this colour, so beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteLove this color. At first I thought it was a bit more on the blue-ish side, but I'm digging the sea green feel.
ReplyDeleteThis particular shade is growing on me too!!
ReplyDeleteI have been in a turquoise state for about 6 months--necklaces, earrings, sweaters, handbag, sheets, gel ink pens, and coming soon, a Goetz sofa in a bleached maple with heart-stopping turquoise upholstery. Your brother looked absolutely horrified when I described it to him ;) Now just need to find a taker for my Eames Sofa Compact in Knoll ultramarine hopsack (which was my color 8 years ago).
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me Laurie!!
ReplyDeleteBarbara - I'll tell you EXACTLY where I am! x Lauren
